Self-Portrait, 2023

A surrealist painting depicting EMTs carrying an invisible patient from a house to an out-of-view ambulance. The sky is dark, and two people watch from the front porch while someone inside the house continues watching TV, and a child plays out front.

In-House Drive-By, 2018 - 2023

In-House Drive-By explores the sentiment that a daily diet of fast food and primetime television beckoned my parents toward their eventual deaths. In this scene, first responders carry an individual on a stretcher down their front porch steps toward an ambulance. The person's ultimate fate is the subject of another painting in this series.

Cihuatateo, 2022-2023

Asleep at the Wheel, 2019-2023

A surrealist painting depicting a truck crashed into a pole late at night as the result of a DUI. Train cars are in the background while in the foreground, a flood of beer pouring from the truck's open door carries the artist's father out of frame.

DUI/Dad Under the Influence, 2022

This jarring scene depicts the artist's re-imagined experience of removing his father from a wrecked truck after a DUI. This piece is one of a small body of work that deals with the artist's inherited habits of substance abuse.

Slow Kill/Traffic Jam, 2013 - 2023

This jarring scene depicts the artist's re-imagined experience of removing his father from a wrecked truck after a DUI. This piece is one of a small body of work that deals with the artist's inherited habits of substance abuse.

Here, Son. Catch!, 2023

A surrealist landscape depicting a flooded city with sea creatures dismantling large pyramids. A Jesus figure is obscured by an OBEY poster portrait by Shepard Fairey.

The Great Flood, 2012 - 202? (Work in Progress)

The Great Flood is a work in progress. It represents the flood of knowledge that arrives with any great awakening. It also depicts the inevitable transmission of old mythology over time and space when new knowledge should bring about change. This painting is the first of many in which I explore the myths we are conditioned to believe in and how they shape our understanding of the world.
